JIM MCDONALD -- This 5' 10" 170-pound second baseman is one of the unsung heroes of the Bulls squad. . . .
the blonde 21-year old Minnesotan was born in St. Paul and still makes his home there. . . . Like most of the Bull players, Jimmy has always harobred a desire to play pro baseball. . . . He played Little League, Babe Ruth League and
American Legion ball. . . . For two year his Legion club was the Minnesota State Champ. . . . Attended Cretin High School in St. Paul. . . . Lettered in both basketball and baseball his junior and senior years in high school. . . . Hit .350 his senior year. . . . Cretin High also won the State Tourney that year. . . . Jim played in the Midwest
Collegiate Summer League and hit .341. . . . He was signed by Rudy Saatzer of the Astros in '64. . . . . Did not play that year and actually began his career with Chuck Churn at Salisbury last year. . . . Has been one of the steady if unspectacular performers for the Bulls all year. . . . Is a student in the offseason and attends St. Thomas College in St. Paul. . . . His major is business administration. . . . Has completed his six month training as an Army reservist. . . . Considers his greatest thrill playing in the Astrodome in '65. . . . He was one of the Astros' outstanding prospects called for early fall workouts . . . For relaxation, Jim plays golf (90's), bowls -- and is the finest pool shark east of Bo Belinsky . . . Enjoys the Carolina sunshine. .
