BOB FRATI-- This burly Bulls backstop was born in Santa Rose, Calif., and still makes his home there. . . . The 23-year-old receiver is 5'11" and weighs 192 pounds . . . .Played Little League and semi-pro baseball on the sandlots of California. . . . Attended Santa Rose High
School and gathered seven letters as a high school star . . . . Won three letters as a third baseman and was all-league for two years. . . . Bob also won one letter in basketball. . . . Turned down a scholarship in football sign with the New York Mets. . .
.This was in 1962 and [he] played for the Mets at Auburn, N.y>, in the NYP Leagueand Salinas in the California League . . . . He was released by the Mets while at Salinas and Dave Philley signed him for the Astros and he
finished out the season with the Modesto club . . . .Bob played for Modesto in '63 and again in '64 . . . . He .played for Bull pilot Chuck Churn in '64 and set the California League record for putouts with 1,072 and defensive percentage with a record of ..992. . . . He played 138 out of a possible 140 games. . . . Last year he played with Amarillo of the Texas League and this year he is doing yeoman duty with the Bulls. . . . His greatest thrill in baseball came in '62 while playing for Auburn . . .. He celebrated his 18th birthday by slamming two home runs . . .in the offseason he has divided his time between carpentry and College at Santa Rosa Junior College where he is an Industrial Arts major. . . . Fishes and hunts for relaxation. . . .is a movie bug during the season. . . .is a very serious performer and wants to make it only one place--the big leagues . . . .
