CARDS I HAVE PLAYER POSITION REMARKS
2 David Qualben Cards Pitcher
Lexington Legends logo
# 7 pick in the June 2006 draft was an All-Star in each of first two seasons, with 2006 at Tri-City, and in 2007 at Lexington, where he was the only Legend selected to the midseason game. Qualben led those Legends in wins, innings pitched and ERA
23 Chad Qualls Cards
Pitcher

Righthanded reliever with a penchant for the double play ball became, on July 22, 2004, the first Houston Astro with the last initial of 'Q' to play in a major league game. As of this writing and perhaps for some time to come, the only Astro pitcher to have given up a Grand Slam in a World Series game. Led the Astros in games pitched each year between 2005 and 2007. Traded with Chris Burke and Juan Gutierrez on December 14, 2007 for closer Jose Valverde

4 Ed Quijada Cards Infield/Pitcher
1991 - 1992 Burlington Astros logo 16th round pick in the June 1988 draft drove in 36 as a third baseman for the 1990 Asheville Tourists, then switched to pitching, and won 8 while losing 10 at Asheville and Burlington in '91 and '92.
1 Luis Quinones Card Infield
Major league veteran signed a minor league contract in March of 1993 and was assinged to Tucson, where he got 136 at bats and hit .221Tucson Toros logo
0 Juan Quintana Cards Pitcher
1950's - 1960's Durham Bulls Logo
The first player in organizational history to have a last name beginning with 'Q" also threw two no-hitters for the mid-60's Durham Bulls (and one is chronicled here).
But they didn't have minor league baseball cards in those days, or pay much attention to the minors at all. If they had, Quintana would be at least as famous as David West or Brien Taylor or David Nied . . . .
2 Cesar Quintero Cards Infield
After a short, successful tryout stateside with Tri-City in 2006, finished second on the '07 Lexington Legends in average and third in stolen bases

11 Humberto Quintero Cards
Catcher

Houston Astros logo, 2000 - Backup catcher acquired from the Padres straight up for Tim Redding in March of '05 played some excellent D, and threw out 37% of those attempting to steal off him with Houston. But Q could only hit .227 over parts of three seasons, and he was released at the end of a rather strong Spring '08. The long loving goodbye he gave his first and only home run as an Astro, on August 15, 2005, must be mentioned here, and was bush, in the extreme.

5 Edgar Ramos Cards Pitcher
With Eddie, above, one of two E. Ramos' at Quad City in 1994, which must have been fun for fans and team announcers alike. Ramos most distinguished himself as an Astro by throwing the only nine-inning no-hitter in Jackson General history on August 6, 1996. 1991 - 1999 Jackson Generals logo
4 Ken Ramos Cards
Outfield

Tucson Toros logo
Called up from Tucson and played 12 games for the 1998 Houston club commencing when Derek Bell was placed on the DL May 16. A smart and patient hitter who struck out only 95 times in the three years he played at AAA Tucson, Ramos led the Toros in walks for 1996, and in fact had the third most walks of any Astros farmhand who played at Tucson in the '90's, behind only Mike Simms and Dave Hajek.
