11 Tom Edens Cards
Relief Pitcher

Decent enough job in '93 and '94
2 Bo Edmiston Cards Pitcher
Second in strikeouts for the 2003 Tri-City Valleycats
2 Jeff Edwards Cards Pitcher
Columbus/Tucson 87-88
3 Jeff Edwards Cards Catcher
Auburn/Asheville (with a short stay at Tucson) '85 - '87
11 JOHNNY EDWARDS Cards
Catcher

Opening Day 69 - 73
Click to read about an NL record Edwards set that it would take Charles Johnson to break
1 Kevin Eichorn Card Trainer
Applied Bactine for the 2001 Lexington Legends
This will take you to a story from the Lexington Herald-Leader about one of the most dominant minor league teams in recent memory
19 Mitch Einertson Cards
Center Field

Outhomered the rest of the 2004 Greeneville Astros, 24 - 21, named team MVP and of course, Appalachian League Top Prospect. 2005 at Lexington: not as good. .211/.276/.359 at Lexington in 2006 when he repeated, but came back with a vengeance at Salem in 2007, where he led the Carolina League in doubles, and was named league MVP. Second on the '08 CC Hooks in RBI, but struggled to reach base.

Scott ElartonCards

Pitcher

Ace in 2000; traded for damaged goods Astacio in 2001
The question remains: Did Scotty get a raw deal from the 'Stros, or did the 'Stros get a raw deal from the Rockies?
1 Larry Elenes Card Pitcher
Pitched exclusively in the Astros' system during his nine-year minor-league career, winning 45 and losing 70, with nine different affiliates. Probably had his best year in 1975, when he went 4 - 2 with a 2.79 at AA Columbus and 2 - 1 with a 2.63 at AAA Iowa, but his card appearance was for the 1974 Cedar Rapids club, for whom he went 5 - 9 with a 3.50
8 Greg Elliott Cards Infield
Always liked the '93 Classic/Best Gold issue
Though why Classic/Best picked Elliott for inclusion in a "gold" set when he had batted .184 the previous year remains something of a mystery. . .
3 John Elliott Cards Infield
Auburn, Asheville, Osceola, and Columbus, 84 - 88
1 Robert Ellis Card Pitcher
Summered in New Orleans, 1999
2 Jeff Ellison Cards Outfield
'76 at Dubuque and '77 at Cocoa

CARDS I HAVE PLAYER POSITION REMARKS
1 Juan Encarnacion Card Outfield
Born in San Pedro De Macoris, I guess Juan played a couple years in the Dominican summer league, then graduated stateside to Asheville, then disappeared
Also, like Miguel Cabrera, this Encarnacion did NOT play for the 2003 World Champion Florida Marlins
7 Dave Engle Cards Coach
Long time Astros upper level minor league hitting coach; but wait, there's more; check this out, from USA Today, written about the time when Rick Ankiel was going through his shit, and people were talking about Steve Blass and Mackey Sassser and their ilk
Head Cases: You Gotta Love 'Em
13 Evan Englebrook Cards
Pitcher

Big, tall, dude was second to Ronnie Martinez in strikeouts for the 2004 Tri-City Valley Cats; went 2 - 4 with a 3.94 for them, allowing basically a hit an inning. Fell off somewhat at Lexington in 2005, but had a fine year as a swingman for the Salem Avalanche in '06, going 9 - 4 with a 3.31. A wretched start at AA Corpus Christi in 2007 led to a demotion back to Salem where he once again performed well, posting a 1.90 ERA in 52 innings. Threw only 55 innings for Corpus in 2008, after a shoulder injury put him on the DL in July. Split '09 between Round Rock and Corpus, where he was 2 - 0 with a 3.16 in 21 games, all in relief.
2 Steve Englishbey Cards Infield
Number one pick in the June 1972 Free Agent Draft had a long career in the Astros system, evidently, but only his stays at Cedar Rapids in 1973 and at Daytona in 1978 have been documented on baseball cards. Went two for four with three RBI's and two runs in Dean and DeLeon's no-hitter vs. Danville in '73.
1 Chris Enochs Card
Pitcher

Minor league free agent led the 2004 New Orleans Zephyrs in strikeouts with 93, while going 6 - 8 with a 4.14
252

MORGAN ENSBERG Cards
Third Base

Ensberg had the season Astros fans have been waiting for in 2005, drove in 100 runs, and was named team MVP. April of 2006 ran like a repeat of 2005, but he fell off quickly from there, after an injury. Traded to San Diego for not much mid-'07
BET YOU DIDN'T KNOW:

1)Ensberg hit .230 @ Auburn in '98
2)He hit .239 @ Kissimmee in '99
3) Only two players in team history have walked over 100 times in a season while hitting below .250:
Joe Morgan in 1969, and Morgan Ensberg in 2006.
4)Game-used issues are cool.

I like this 2000 game-used card
26 Darin Erstad Cards Outfield
Free agent signing in December of '07 saw more and more time in center as '08 progressed and as it became apparent Michael Bourn would never hit
Houston Astros logo, 2000 -
4 Felix Escalona Cards Infield
Ended 2001 at Lexington, then was selected by the Giants in the Rule V draft that December
Same page I took you to for Eichorn. Sorry.
7 Rodrigo Escobar Cards Pitcher
2001 Venezuelan Summer League MVP came stateside to play with Martinsville in 2002, going 6 - 2 with a 3.12. In 2003, he played at two levels, doing better at Tri-City than at Lexington. In 2004 he repeated at Tri-City, and dominated, going 8 - 0 with a 1.33, and got the promotion to High A Salem in 2005. Outstanding there in '05, he repeated as an Av in '06 and had troubles.
1 Brian Espersen Cards Pitcher
18th round pick in June 2007 had pitched a no-hitter in the Coastal Plain Summer Collegiate League, but went 0 - 2 with a 9.00 for the '07 V-Cats
2 Pedro Espinoza Card
Infield

Spent 2004 and 2005 at Greenevile; appears to lack power, but doesn't strike out, either.
1 Brian Esposito Card Catcher
MLFA split time with Jason Castro and Jonathan Fixler behind the plate at AA Corpus Christi in 2009
Corpus Christi Hooks logo
4 Joel Estes Cards Pitcher
Got as high as the AA Columbus Mudcats in 1989, so at least when it was all over, Joel had a cool hat
10 Paul Estrada Cards Pitcher
Pronounced "Pow-OOL". Resident of Ciudad Bolivar, Venezuela threw at Martinsville in 2002 and 2003, at Tri-City in 2004, and at Lexington in 2005. By 2006, he he had emerged as something of a prospect--with a nasty downward breaking slider a la Brad Lidge--and finished the year as closer at AA Corpus Christi. Stepped backward at Round Rock in 2007, where he was 1 - with a 5.12, and lost the closer's job to Travis Driskill Pitched in only 9 games in 2008, due to injuries.
2 Larry Eubanks Cards Catcher
Hit .291 at Dubuque in 1976, hit .291 at Cocoa in 1977, hit .281 at Columbus in 1978, then, mysteriously, disappeared. However, sources now indicate that as of 2005, Eubanks is high school baseball coach at Deer Valley High School in Glendale , Arizona.

TONY EUSEBIO Cards

Catcher

24-game hit streak in '00 a club record that stood for four years. Had third longest tenure on Astros big club after Bagwell and Biggio before the 'Stros opted not to re-sign him, and had actually been with the organization longer than anyone but Biggio. My, the 1994 Osceola All-time set is cool:

I mean as a one-time club RECORD HOLDER isn't the guy worthy of some RESPECT? 'Course this is the same guy some of the jagoffs on the ESPN boards called "Fat Tony." Whatever; the defensive skills may have sometimes been lacking (especially on the plays at the plate), but I will always know Eusebio as "Tough Tony," and his status as one of the best-hitting backup catchers in the majors should have found him a good job somewhere. But for some reason, it didn't.

3 David Evans Cards Pitcher
Led the 1995 Jackson Generals with 18 saves
7 Jamie Evans Cards Pitcher
The Annotated Jamie Evans A little bit of flowery prose, here, if you can stand it
6 Tim Evans Cards Outfield
1993 Midwest League All-Star topped out at Jackson in '94
96 Adam Everett Cards
Shortstop

Doubts about his ability to hit were cast aside in the wake of Julio Lugo's arrest on domestic abuse charges. The defense at times was sparkling down the stretch in 2003, and he proved he was able to hit .250, at the least, with some pop. By 2006, Everett had shown himself to be a not-totally-unclutch .235 hitter who just happened to play the best shortstop in the game.
40 CARL EVERETT Cards
Outfield

Homered from both sides 3/24/98, 8/7/99. So clutch in '99, my disappointment at trading him to Boston for salary and namesake Adam, is tempered now by the general consensus among baseball people that Carl isn't such a good guy
2 Cat Everett Cards Shortstop
Another Everett who plays shortstop was drafted in the 44th round of the June '07 draft, and hit .229 at Tri-City that year, but walked more than he struck out. Couldn't say the same thing at Lexington in 2008, however, where he hit .203.
